Happy New Year 老梅 Lao-Mei Elementary School!

Yesterday afternoon off to visit some lovely children in Lao-Mei Village, right on the northern tip of Taiwan, where it had finally stopped raining… YES!

Grade 6, then Grade 4, then Grade 5 for 40 minutes each on the subject of New Year around the world, starting with Scotland ~ this tall, dark-haired boy would be Lao-Mei’s first-foot ~ the children are trying to guess what gifts he might be bringing!

And so to the red papers which should have Chinese greetings on them for New Year and be stuck around the doorways, but adapted here for every child to write down their New Year Resolutions…

It’s the final week of school in Taiwan, exams are coming to an end and the holidays are in sight ~ the kids are very happy YEAH!

Oh yes, and yesterday, January 14 was one of Russia’s New Year celebrations, good timing eh?!
