石門國中 celebrating Mother’s Day YA!

So how’s this for a school with a view?

There sits ShiMen Junior High School right on the sea – this is the view from the classrooms….  The sea is right there, honest, just behind those bushes – in fact so close you could sit inside with a fishing rod and still reach the sea and catch something. And there I went today, invited by the very lovely English teachers to share something about Mother’s Day with the whole school.

Forget the fact that I was the only one there not celebrating Mother’s Day on the second Sunday of May – and actually with that fact I started the class: ~ how come Mother’s Day is celebrated on different days and in different ways around the world?

Last time I was there was just before Christmas wearing my flashing reindeer antlers – so maybe students were expecting me to appear in some equally outrageous outfit – but just what would be suitable attire for Mother’s Day?!

So for the second half we made Mother’s Day cards ~ with thumbs and red ink and a lot of imagination ~ wow these children are creative!
