Ghost Month…

It’s Ghost Month in Taiwan – the 7th lunar month, when according to custom the ghosts are released from hell to roam around the world for a month.  To appease the ghosts, people make offerings of food and drink outside their homes and businesses, and burn paper spirit money.  The air hangs heavy with the smell of burning paper and incense…..

Ghost Month climax was actually yesterday, Ghost Festival, but Typhoon Trami and the torrential rain put paid to many of the activities….

Happened to walk past these 2 restaurants next to Shilin MRT at lunchtime today….
