王馥華姊妹追思禮拜….RIP Fu-Hua

For the last year or two, Fu-Hua 馥華姊 has been our church cashier and administrator at Advent Church, and with her husband, they were the most amazing singing duet!

(If you check back on my previous posts, one on October 18 and one on November 3, you’ll see photos of the welcome that they sang to my visitor Stephanie, and recordings of the songs they sang at the church wedding here on November 2.)

A few days after that wedding, Fu-Hua was admitted to hospital, and she died on November 25.

So we’ve had a very sad few weeks here at Advent Church.  But Fu-Hua is the last person who would want anyone to be sad, and at her funeral yesterday many tributes were made to her sense of fun and her constant optimism throughout her long illness and in the face of adversity.  She was much-loved and much appreciated for her amazingly enthusiastic response to life, for her deep faith and her infectious joy.

At her funeral, her husband sang through his tears to say goodbye.  It was incredibly moving.  Her children had returned from Canada for the occasion, and Advent Church arranged her funeral.  Many students came along, after all many knew her well, she always made time for them, and she taught many of them to sing.  People came from far and wide. It was beautiful, and a fitting send-off to a woman well-loved.

Now Fu-Hua is singing with the angels in heaven ~ but her joy remains with us.  We all smile when we remember her, thanking God for the blessings she brought to us all!
